Compensate your travel for the climate
Gotaleden Stafett & Ultra is collaborating with TrailCred to offset the race’s climate impact.
You can read more about how you can get involved and contribute on the Sustainability page.
During the race
The course:
The course will follow the Gotaleden route with orange ribbons and blue metal signs. Flaggers will be stationed along the course to clarify the running direction.
Stage stations and transition zones:
Each stage ends with a stage station that is divided into two different pens (“corridors”):
“Pass through”: A pen for those who are going to run further. Either as a single runner or as a relay runner who will switch at a later stage station. This pen is marked “Pass through”.
“Change”: A pen for the relay runner who is going to switch to a teammate in the transition zone. This corridor is marked “Change”.
For example, if you as a relay runner are going to run several stages, then you run in the corridor “Pass through” in the stage stations until the stage station where you will change to your teammate, then you run in the “Change” corridor.
As another example, if you are a solo runner in either the Ultra 75 km or Sprint 35 km, then you run in the “Pass through” corridor in all stage stations. All the way to the finish line!

The icons for “Change” and “Pass through”, that will be on signage during the race.
Relay
Each relay team receives a wristband with a timing chip that functions as a baton along with their number tags. In each change zone, the relay runner hands over the wristband to their teammate who runs on to the next stage station.
It is important that the teammate who has finished their run leaves the change zone as quickly as possible to make room for other teams to change.
IMPORTANT: Relay wristbands with chips must be returned at the finish line after the race.

Hydration and energy
Water & sports drinks will be available at all stage stations and after the change zones. There will also be water & sports drinks between the stage stations, approximately in the middle of each stage. So, on average, there is hydration every 5 km. Look at the map at the bottom of this page to get a good overview.
The sports drink offered is Umara’s “U Sport” Lemon and is mixed according to 90 grams of carbohydrates per liter.
If you run in the “Pass through” corridor (read above) and are going on to the next stage station, then in addition to water & sports drink, you will find more energy before you leave the stage station: chips, Coca-Cola, candy, bits of banana, bits of pickle.
At the stage station Floda (40 km after the start) there will be light food for the Ultra 75 km runners.
At the finish in Nolhagaparken (Alingsås) food will be served to the Ultra 75 km and Sprint 35 km runners.
Race bib:
The race bib is mandatory for all runners and must be worn clearly visible on the chest or leg (front of thigh). The tag must be clearly visible from the front.
Cut-off time:
Last cut-off in Västra Bodarna (start of stage 9) is 18:30
Equipment:
Poles are allowed to be used during the race. If a runner chooses to use poles, the runner must carry the poles with them throughout the race. From start to finish. The runner is therefore not allowed to put the poles in the bag that the race transports, neither at the start nor at the stage station in Floda (for Ultra 75 km).
Discontinued race or injury:
Should the accident occur and you need to discontinue the race, then the best solution is if you can get to the nearest stage station and notify one of our officials that you are discontinuing the race. You are then responsible for getting away from there using your own transport or public transport.
The officials at the stage stations can assist with minor injuries and first aid. If you are unable to get to a stage station, the organizers cannot guarantee assistance or help with transport. However, it is important that you notify the race organizer that you have discontinued.
If you discontinue the race and do not notify the race organizer, the organizer needs to ensure that you are taken care of. Any costs for searching will be charged to the runner.
If you as a participant catch up with a runner with serious problems, it is mandatory to help if they need help.
In the event of a serious injury or accident, call 112!
After the race

The finish area in Nolhagaparken (Alingsås) will have a party atmosphere with a DJ, food & drinks, etc. There is also the opportunity to meet our partners there.
